Inspired by Nature,
created for you...

There are so many colours and shapes in nature that inspire me...

I love the art of lampworking to create one-of-a-kind beads. Each bead is as individual and unique as we are.

Lampworking, or flameworking, is an ancient art, where artists used an oil lamp to melt glass. Now a torch is primarily used to this. Once in a molten state, the glass is formed by blowing and shaping with tools and hand movements. It is then placed in a kiln where it goes through a process known as "annealing". This will harden the bead so that it can be used to create beautiful jewelry.

2020 - What Can I say!

Yes, 2020 has been a challenging year for everyone, and certainly some have been affected by COVID19 more than others. I'm so fortunate that I have a home studio and can escape by working at my torch and being soothed by the melting of glass. There is something so mesmerizing about watching glass melt, change shape and colour .... it is impossible to think about anything else when I'm working with glass.
However, it has meant that most art/craft shows have been cancelled and I do miss that! I love meeting and chatting with people at these shows. It gives me an opportunity to talk about glass and the process that is involved in lampworking. So, this year has given me an opportunity to work on technique and experiment with different shapes and colours. I've posted on my Events page, any upcoming shows that I'm participating in - please check back for updates. Fingers crossed that 2021 will be a brighter year for everyone!

Come and see what I've been working on now...
